Opps I know this is a late one but I forgot to post the VideoStudio trial edition. It is now in the downloads section and I am starting to tidy the categories.
Since this was our first class I spent the first part of the time going over the syllabus and introducing everyone. We got settled in and then checked out the Photoshop user interface. I lectured on the basics of selecting objects from the pictures. I then showed everyone what FTP was and how it worked. Gave usernames and passwords for all of the ftp accounts. I then had you do assignment 1 as listed. More or less a collage of pictures just to try and get you practicing your MAD SELEKTIN SKILZ!
We started off trying to login to WebCT. That didn't go over so well. I have since been able to have Carol fix the problem and so we should now be back on track with the online materials. Everyone needs to try and log back in and see if the IT180 course is now listed.
After the online stuff we basically played show and tell with all of my tools. Yeah it took a long time but there ware things there that you would never really think of until you needed them. We will have a little hardware quiz next class.
Went over a good portion of the first chapter. Introduced the user interface of the VB compiler. Talked about object oriented programming. Then we did the Hello World exercise. For homework you are to do assignment 1 as listed. Run wild and see what you can do for the first assignment, don't limit yourself. Due Thursday 1/28.
WebCT is fully setup and all of the assignments along with a schedule of due dates has been posted. I have tried emailing everyone and have so far only gotten 1 email bounced back to me. If you have the class please check your email and send me a reply so I know yours works.
Met and went over the syllabus. Had our little pre-test to see what you knew. Then went over how to download and extract the Corel Video Studio trial edition. Took a brief look at the video editing interface. Reminder if you have a camera, even a cell phone that has a camera, start bringing it and the cable to connect to a computer with you to class. We need camera folks!!
Had everyone introduce themselves then went over the online syllabus. I gave out the pre-test and assigned your daily news articles. Remember you are to have 2 articles per class twice a week. That makes four total articles. You are to give me the links and a 2-3 line summary of the article. This gets you into the news and give you an excuse to read about new technologies.
Well we started of the semester with the IT192 class. Welcome back everyone. We went over the syllabus, which will remain online instead of wasting more paper. I showed how to install the Visual Basic Model which is avialable as a free download on this website. Also most folks don't have a book yet, no problem. I have put in PDF format the first 3 chapters of the book in the downloads section. That will give you some time to purchase a book of the net really cheaply. We finished up the day by taking the pre-test and going over a little bit of the compiler interface.
The study guide for the final has been posted to the downloads section. There are 120 questions listed. I reserve the right to remove material from the final as I see fit.
